A cake by Faridah is edible art for your most memorable moment. The wedding cake can be one of the most important parts of what makes a significant occasion one to remember forever. It is a statement piece that can add romance and atmosphere while also reflecting your personality, style and good taste. Whether sophisticated and elegant or playful and whimsical, Cakes by Faridah are customised specifically for your location, decoration and the ambience that you wish to create for your wedding.
At 12 years of age, Faridah learned how to cook instructed by her mother and also by exploring recipes in cook books. Her first formal training took place during her time in UK, where she was able to acquire new skills under the tutelage of Chef Kenneth Lo (Memories of China, London). Over the years she has gained additional experience by enrolling in summer courses such as the Intermediate Courses at Cordon Bleu, and other short courses while on her travels, attending culinary schools in US, UK, Bangkok and Vietnam. Many of her dishes are inspired by her trips overseas and from her expatriate friends.
Quality is Faridah’s passion. Her extensive experience, technical knowledge and unique artistic flair, enables her to create exceptional creative dishes and cakes that are pleasing to the eye and full of flavour. Faridah is a mother of 8, a cake decorator, a restaurateur, authorised Wilton Method Instructor and Accredited Tutor for Paul Bradford Sugarcraft School. Her present day activities include conducting classes in both cooking and cake decorating.
